News Release

February 5, 2008

DeKalb County, Georgia Governing Authority passed an ordinance known as the "Inefficient Plumbing Fixtures Replacement Plan".

This ordinance, in part, addresses the problem of older properties, built before 1993, that have older plumbing fixtures.

The ordinance requires the seller of any qualifying property disclose the requirements, to any potential buyer, for replacing the existing plumbing fixtures with low flow fixtures.

Water service through the county will not be granted until low flow fixtures are installed and a certificate of compliance has been obtained.

Please read the entire ordinance for exceptions and requirements.
